Currently our ship out date are Monday through Wednesday. Our weekly arrival dates are continuing per usual: Tuesday through Thursday (as we cannot process orders Thursday through Sunday).

How can I know my UPS delivery cost?

UPS shipping costs will be dependent on the amount of order, and vary depending on destination.
Your UPS shipping cost for the amount of your order will be calculated at checkout after you enter your shipping address.

Please make sure to click the delivery option (UPS Next Day Air or Next Day Air Early) and confirm your total cost after the delivery cost added.

When “Pickup at Oxnard” is the only option shown, your cart might have items that are not available for Nationwide Delivery. For example, we don’t ship Uni on wood trays via UPS due to delivery damage issues. See the “Nationwide Delivery” tab for available items!

Why are some items not available for Nationwide Delivery?

When it comes to Nationwide Delivery, some items are not suitable for Next Day Air or does not fit in our delivery boxes. For example, we do not ship our standard uni trays via UPS due to handling and damage issues. We only offer the organic water pack (Ensui) uni for nationwide delivery.
We will keep searching for new items that can be safely shipped via Next Day Air to give customers more options.

Where do you ship to?

We ship within the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska via UPS or with our own delivery trucks.

What is your shipping method?

We ship Next Day Air or Next Day Air Early via UPS for nationwide shipping or Local Delivery is available in select Ventura, Santa Barbara, LA, and Orange County. Seafood is shipped in insulated packaging with ice packs and/or dry ice to withstand 24-48 hours in transit (depending on the final destination).

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Orders over $140 are eligible for free delivery in select Santa Barbara, Ventura, LA, and Orange County. Unfortunately, free shipping is not available for shipments via UPS at this time.

When will I receive my order?

We have fixed delivery schedules for Local delivery service and Nationwide delivery service. Please see the delivery area maps and schedules from “Local delivery areas & schedule” and “Nationwide delivery area & schedule” sections on top part of this page!

Please specify in the order notes which day you would like to receive your product based on our delivery schedule. If not, we will ship out the next available shipment date.  

UPS Next Day Air or Next Day Air Early will/may not be available if it is Wednesday after 8 am PST, Thursday thru Monday, or holiday.

Can my order arrive on a Saturday?

Weekend pickups are available at our location in Oxnard. However, as we are not always open over the weekend, please call or email us to confirm our weekend schedule by 3pm on Friday.

We will need your order placed online by 4pm on Friday to finalize your pickup appointment. We will get back to you with our final confirmation and available pickup time after we receive your order.

Do I need to be home to receive my package?

No, you do not need to be home to receive your package since signature is not required upon receipt. We do not assume responsibility for failed delivery attempts due to a lack of signature or lack of special instructions. For example, if you live in a gated apartment building and packages must be left in a designated area, it is your responsibility to include notes on your order.

How does COVID-19 affect my order?

Currently there are many logistical challenges due to COVID-19. Some FedEx/UPS services have been suspended or may be interrupted. Due to these uncertainties, delivery times are not guaranteed and could also lead to denied claims under certain circumstances.

What if there is an issue with my order?

Please contact customer service at info@twseafood.com. To expedite a resolution, be sure to include your order number, complaint details, and applicable photos.

What is the cut-off time to place an order for UPS next day delivery?

The cut-off time to place an order for next day delivery is 8AM PST the day before the arrival day. Currently our ship out date are Monday through Wednesday. Our weekly arrival dates are continuing per usual: Tuesday through Thursday.

Do you have a pick up location?

Yes, your orders can be picked up at our facility in Oxnard, CA. We are open from Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm. Holidays can affect the business days/hours. You can order online and pick up on the same day.  Weekend pickups are available by appointment only.  Please call or email to confirm weekend pickups.

Can you ship internationally?

We currently do not offer international shipping for our products.

Why it says there are no shipping options available at checkout?

If you choose items that are not supported as nationwide delivery or your area is not in our shipping area, the shipment option would not show up. Please contact customer support at info@twseafood.com or (805) 483-8555.

●Product Handling & Quality

Is your uni processed in house?

Yes! The Santa Barbara sea urchin (Uni) is all processed and packed at our facility. We purchase the live sea urchin directly from the local divers. Come check out our trucks which can be seen almost daily when sea urchin harvesting and offloading is being done at the harbor.

How is my order packaged?

We will ship your order in insulated packaging with gel ice packs and/or dry ice to withstand 24-48 hours in transit. Please handle dry ice with care and avoid direct contact with skin. Feel free to reuse the gel packs and styrofoam boxes!

How long can my seafood sit on my porch and still stay cold / frozen?

Your shipment should have enough gel/dry ice inside to withstand 24-48 hours since the ship out date. But due to various weather and climate situations, we recommend you to be home the day the package arrives.

There is a rip or damage on the packaging material, is the product still safe to eat?

Occasionally there may be damage on the packaging material or the vacuum bag break during transit. The product should still be safe to consume as long as the gel/dry ice is hard and the product is cold to the touch.

How long can I keep my seafood in the fridge?

See refrigerator and freezer storage instructions in each product page.  For frozen items, immediately put the product in the freezer to maintain its quality.  Most items should be kept in the freezer until the day it will be consumed.  Do not attempt to refreeze items that have been thawed out.  The quality will be dramatically compromised.

Please note that super frozen tuna should put in the freezer immediately upon arrival and be consumed within one week of receiving date.  A regular household freezer is too warm to maintain the quality of the product and the quality will be compromised after a week or so in a regular freezer.

What is Super Frozen?

Super Frozen products are products that are frozen and maintained in -60-70 degrees C. Holding the product in ultra low temperature helps maintain/preserve quality of texture and taste. With our Super Frozen Tuna, you will receive a Tuna Instruction sheet, which will tell you exactly how to properly defrost/store your items.

How should I store the product?

FRESH ITEMS

Fresh Santa Barbara Uni
Uni will arrive fresh and should be kept in the refrigerator. You can store the uni trays up to 5 days in your refrigerator. Please note that fresh uni does not freeze well, and the texture/flavor will be lost once thawed out.  If you freeze your uni, we recommend making uni pasta with it!

Ensui Organic Uni
To preserve the fresh taste from ocean, this product is packed in salt water with no added preservatives to replicate eating a live sea urchin straight from the shell. Store the package in the coldest place in the refrigerator, or cover it with ice and store in the refrigerator. As this product is organic; we recommend consuming within 24 hours of
receiving the product.

FROZEN ITEMS

Superfrozen OToro/Chutoro
Superfrozen toro can be stored in your household freezer for up to one week.  Any longer, the product will start to oxidize and turn brown.  Due to the sensitivity of the product, please be sure to follow the included instructions precisely for best results. Once thawed, the product will need to be consumed within 24 hours.  Breaking the vacuum seal will expedite the oxidizing process. We highly recommend to consume the product immediately after breaking the seal.

●Returns

What is your return policy?

Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery for any issues with your shipment.

Be sure to include any photos/videos to support your claim to help us expedite the process.

Although we ship priority to arrive next day, there may be weather events or transit delays that are out of our control. Although we put enough gel/dry ice to withstand 24-48 hours, be sure to open and examine the product immediately should delays in your shipment occur.

Certain products are shipped frozen but may be thawed by the time it arrives.  As long as the product is cold to the touch, the quality should not be compromised.

Requests for refunds on delayed shipments that are delivered within 48 hours will be considered on a case by case basis.
FedEx/UPS and Tradewind Seafood assume no liability for loss, damage, delay, misdelivery or nondelivery due to causes beyond either party’s reasonable control (aka “Acts of God”).

Is there a minimum purchase for online orders?

No minimum purchase for online orders required at this moment.

Can I send an order as a gift?

Yes! When you check out, update the shipping address with the lucky recipient’s address.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking info for your order. If you have not received a confirmation email or tracking info for your order, please contact customer support at info@twseafood.com or (805) 483-8555.

Can I change my order after it is placed?

You may be able to change your order as long as it has not already been processed in our system. To request a change to your order, please contact customer support at info@twseafood.com or (805) 483-8555 immediately!

●General Questions

Why is your uni sometimes out of stock?

Uni is harvested from the wild and we are under of mercy of mother nature. The safety of the divers is our first priority and we ask them to harvest when they can safely do so. Feel free to contact us if the uni is out of stock and you are wondering when it will arrive next.

Why are there different shades of uni?

Uni comes in many sizes, color, shape and firmness. Time of year, water temperature, depth they are at, food they eat are only some of the factors that determine quality of the roe. Darker or wet uni does not necessarily mean the uni is not good or fresh. We guarantee you are getting the freshest uni possible by ordering directly from us!

Do I need an account to place an order?

You can make purchases as a guest and do not need to set up an account. However, creating an account will help you check out faster in the future.
