 Imported Fresh Japanese Shizuoka Wasabi

We import our fresh Japanese wasabi from farms in Shizuoka Prefecture. (Approx, 0.2lbs – 0.3lbs pieces)

SHIZUOKA WASABI Cultivating wasabi rhizomes is very very difficult to do correctly. Some of the highest quality wasabi rhizomes in the world are produced in the impeccable environment of the Shizuoka mountains, which gives the wasabi it’s characteristic pungent taste, rich aroma, and subtle sweetness. The bright green color is a signature of Shizuoka wasabi, delighting your eyes and elevating all your dishes.

PREPARING THE WASABI As a general rule for wasabi, the finer the grate the better. Wasabi is traditionally ground on specialty sharkskin graters; but metal and plastic graters are available. If you cannot find a wasabi grater in your area, any fine micro plane grater will work. After use, store your root in the refrigerator wrapped in a damp paper towel. It will stay fresh for about two weeks.
